Cleaning Up

After more than 6 years, we are moving out of our unit in astral. For more than 1 week now, I have been segregating stuff, throwing those that I think I don't need and keeping even the most trivial attendance sheet from internship. I cannot believe how much trash we've been keeping. From the kitchen alone, I had 6 large garbage bags full of garbage. From the school stuff, I almost filled a large storage box. My transcriptions from medical school occupies 2 book shelves.

We are moving to a furnished house, so we don't really need to bring a lot. Hence, my self-imposed rule to bring only the really important stuff. I am surprised at how easily i let go of the things I would have normally kept. I said goodbye to each of the trashbag before i threw it down the garbage chute. I am also donating all of my transes to my org, believing that a lot more medical students will benefit from them.

So I let go, and it feels great. I should consider doing that in the other aspects of my life too.
