A Beautiful Poem

My face in thine eyes Thine in mine appears And true plain hearts Do in their faces rest Where can we find two better hemispheres Without sharp north Without declining west Whatever dies was not mixed equally If our two loves be one And thou and I loved alike That none can slacken None can die... - from a movie which title I cannot remember, shared with me by a friend

Serendipity

Image
Ser.en.dip.i.ty the occurrence and development of events by chance in a happy and beneficial way It originated in the 1754, coined by Horace Walpole, suggested by the "The Three Princes of Serendip", a title of a fairy tale in which the heroes "were always making discoveries, by accidents or sagacity, of things they were not in quest of." Serendip  is also the old name of Persia. You can read the story from http://livingheritage.org/three_princes.htm Then we realize that the origin of this concept is not even romantic.  It included a lost camel which is blind in one eye, missing a tooth and lame.  Of course there were three princes from Serendippo in the Far East who had great wisdom (or analytical skills) and reward at the end of the story.   Just really wanna share. So it's not all about  heart, heart.  ... and christmas trees, ice skating and Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera. The 2001 movie is not all there is to it.  But still, ser...

Internship

It's past 1 am and I'm awake.  This is not unusual really, if you know how hospital duties go, except that now, I'm having my last vacation before I become an intern, and by that, I mean that I should get a LOT of sleep to help me last 12 months of slavery ;) But seriously, in two weeks, I am becoming an intern.  The  red nameplate . *shudder* I know the workload.  I have been a clerk, and we do almost the same things, if not THE SAME things, except, of course, that we get to have holidays and lectures.  What makes me jittery is the fact that I will be having a lot of responsibilities come May 1.  Residents, nurses and several others will be looking for "THE INTERN".  Clerks as well will be relying on us to teach them how to do stuff the first few days of their rotation.  PGI's will need us to orient them about the PGH  (not-so-perfect)   system.  And I have myself to look after.  Boards  na  on August 2009. Heck, why so much  whining ?! I have been blessed wi...

Don't Read, Very Cheesy

Earlier today, my sister and I were watching our all-time favorite movie (and by all-time I mean since I was 4 and she was 2), "The Sound of Music".  One of the scenes was Maria and the Captain finally admitting their feelings for each other, singing "Somewhere in My Youth"  while  kissing and hugging.  Then the Captain said:   You know when I first fell in love with you?  It was when you first sat on that sharp pine  and Maria replied:   i knew it the first time you blew your whistle. Perhaps I had a wicked childhood, perhaps I had a miserable youth.  but somewhere in that wicked miserable past, there must have been a moment of truth. . I turned to my sister.   "Ikaw tette, when did you know you were in love with Joseph?" I wouldn't reveal her answer here, but anyway, she asked why I am asking. Cause there you are standing there loving me..whether or not you should... "Wala lang." "Uy, ate sino?  Si  ______ ba? Yihee..." "No!...

Island Pledge

Image
For as long as I can remember, I've always had this fascination with islands - small islands especially.  And I know, in my heart, that someday, I will have at least one.   Below is the list of people who have pledged to give me one when they have enough money.  Islands as small as this will do. ;) 1.  Tita Ging 2.  PR 3.  Mommy Thank you in advance.  I love you three.
